French Canvas Mat 49 Pouch

The somewhat obscure and partly forgotten French made MAT-49 SMG saw widespread usage in the First Indochina & Algerian Wars. To keep them spewing lead down range, the French designed these 5 cell mag pouches.

These pouches were kept pretty simple for use in the colonies. A single large top flap secures the magazines with dual snap domes. Within there are 5 individual cells so you won't fumble them around when under pressure. You can mount the pouch on a belt up to 6.5cm wide with dual belt loops at the rear or alternatively one really large single 21cm loop. Who knows what stories each one of these pouches could contain from as far back as the 1950's!
